Archived description. This retained description does not describe current offerings.
Analogue Initiative was a fully plant-based Singapore bar and restaurant built around alternatives to wasteful hospitality. Its CHIJMES room centred on a sculptural bar made from more than 1,600kg of recycled plastic, while low-waste cocktails and Asian-influenced plates explored future foods and ingredient by-products. The venue closed its CHIJMES chapter in November 2024 and has not announced a replacement address.

Score context
Analogue Initiative is Mudaliar's plant-based, low-impact bar: recycled-plastic counter, mycelium tops, Faux Espresso Martinis, Nuggetz. Believers call it the future; others missed meat and a fixed address after the CHIJMES chapter. Order the NA riffs even if you drink — they're the point.

Themes in this historical read
What guests like
- Vijay Mudaliar's plant-based second act: mycelium tables, recycled-plastic bar, wheelchair-height counter.
- Faux Espresso Martini (carob, chicory), spirulina and cactus drinks that actually taste like cocktails.
- Nuggetz with curry sauce and a NA list built as carefully as the booze.
- Inclusivity that isn't a poster — the bar dips for wheelchairs; vegans aren't an afterthought.
What to know
- Room hopped (original site, then CHIJMES); drinkers got tired of tracking the address.
- Plant-based manifesto turns off guests who wanted steak bites with a Negroni.
- Future-food ingredients (spirulina, cactus) read gimmicky if the drink doesn't land.
