Score context
Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall on Boat Quay is Sam Wong's hawker-coded cocktail room: laksa in a glass, Blood & Sand, actual wok hei on the side. Guests who want local without a menuzine like it. It's on a tourist strip, it's loud, and you have to describe your drink. Order the laksa and the Hokkien mee.

Themes in this historical read
What guests like
- Sam Wong's Boat Quay cold-drink stall: laksa cocktail, Blood & Sand, hawker plates (Hokkien mee, har cheong gai).
- Khong Guan tins and Gold Cock tumblers — local without the heritage TED talk.
- Bespoke 'tell us what you like' service that strips the polish off Amoy Street.
- Regulars still talk about the char kway teow with the drinks.
What to know
- Boat Quay tourist strip; the room can be loud and the AC arctic.
- No printed menu for drinks frustrates guests who don't want to perform a brief.
- Moved around over the years; some coverage still points at old Haji Lane nights.
